For grown-ups
Row 1: right group (5). Row 2: left group (6). Row 3: the same (4 and 4). Row 4: right group (7). Optional number sentences: 2 < 5; 6 > 3; 4 = 4; 1 < 7.
Let the child talk through their choice. A finger trace, pointing or saying a number can be a useful starting point before writing.
