Free Mac storage guide

Mac startup disk almost full?

Do not start by deleting unfamiliar files. First confirm what is consuming space, protect anything irreplaceable and make one reversible change at a time.

Three safe first checks

  1. Confirm free space. Open System Settings, choose General, then Storage. Allow the categories time to calculate.
  2. Check obvious personal files. Review Downloads, large videos and old installers you recognise. Move important files to a verified backup before removing them.
  3. Restart and measure again. Temporary storage can change after a normal restart. Compare the result instead of trusting a single snapshot.

What this public guide does not provide

This is a safe orientation, not the complete EasyFix decision process or its working MacHealthCheck tools. The paid package connects storage evidence to a structured sequence and keeps the diagnostic files private.
